The Idea A place for sailors to go while docked
Face Rinus Barstow (Propriator)

Description
Upon entering The Black Barnacle you are assaulted by smells of ail, sweat and smoke. The air is hot and humid, even when the weather isn’t. When your eyes finally adjust to the dimly lit interior you see that the place is muddled with nautical paraphernalia, fish nets and large ship lanterns are hanging in different areas of the celling, buoys, ship wheels and oars occupy the walls pillars and parts of the floor and there is a large mural of a three-masted ship being attacked by a giant squid on the wall opposite the bar.

Along the left wall is the bar that runs nearly the entire length, behind the bar you see several tankards, bottles, jugs, and casks, on the wall above the casks there are a pair of harpoons and gaffing hooks and you get the impression that these are not merely decorations. At the far end of the bar there is an opening that leads to the kitchen/storage room.

In the centre of the room there are two long common tables with a few candles providing a little bit of light. Along the back wall there are four booths that are dark and suitable for private meetings. The right side of the tavern has several smaller tables that are often used for gambling as well as drinking.
